Little Red Corvette by Prince.

Prince doesn’t want his music on You Tube so today’s video comes from Vimeo.

I’m not a huge fan of Prince, nor this song, but I heard it recently and today I realized that it reminded me of an actor I met at a convention last year. He’s just about into his mid-40’s, he’s not married, no children, still gets wasted, and smokes. In fact, he was dealing with a hangover when I met him. And I don’t even want to know if he uses drugs. To no surprise, his relationships don’t last long and he just started dating an 18 year old. Yes, I said an 18 year old.

The sad part is that he’s a really nice guy and he’s gorgeous too. I haven’t stopped thinking about him since we met in Sepetember. Though it’s hard to admit, he’s easy to fall for.  But, he’s also easy to be scared for. I’ve seen so many people die lately in Hollywood and I’m really scared something is going to happen to him. He’s just not slowing down or growing up. He’s an obvious heartbreaker and his taste in women is not good, even worse for a man of his age who should be trying to settle down at this point.

That’s why the beginning verses of this song really make me think of him. I would probably say that he’s the male version of the woman Prince is describing in this song. This line really gets to me (and breaks my heart), See you’re the kinda person that believes in makin’ out once. Love ’em and leave ’em fast.

And this is another line that made me think of him, ‘Cuz I felt a little ill, when I saw all the pictures of the jockeys (in this case, way-too-young-for-him girls) that were there before me. Believe it or not I started to worry I wondered if I had enough class.

It honestly does make me ill. In fact, seeing him with an 18 year old almost made me cry. I really wish he’d get into a relationship with someone more his age. But I doubt that’s going to happen. There was even a part of me that wished I could be with him, to help him, because I really don’t want him to take his life down like so many others have….
