A classic song by a classic band, everyone has to know at least one Pumpkins song. I pretty much grew up with them and in high school, my friend and I loved Billy Corgan. He’s an amazing artist. I wish the band still had the original line-up though. It’s another case of drugs that ended up tearing apart a great band. Billy still tours, but with new people.
One of my favorite lines from this song is, Time is never time at all. You can never ever leave without leaving a piece of youth. And our lives are forever changed, we will never be the same. The more you change the less you feel.
Whenever I hear this song, I think about my early teenage years. I was always wondering what the future would be like, and dreading to leave fantasies and people behind because it could never be. But Billy is right, it really isn’t time, it’s all about change. And as I’ve grown older, I do feel less for the past that I thought I’d never get over.
