Burden In My Hand by Soundgarden.

This is definitely my favorite song by Soundgarden. There’s something about the music that I totally love. I’m not a huge Chris Cornell fan,  his voice doesn’t work for me when it comes to his solo and Audioslave work. But Soundgarden is different, maybe it’s their unique sound, whatever it is, it’s the only time I don’t mind hearing his voice.

I wasn’t too thrilled with his collaboration with Timbaland on his recent solo album. He ditched the whole rock sound completely. But I’m glad he found his roots again because last I heard, Soundgarden is back together.

This song describes the murder of woman by her lover and he leaves her in the desert. He lost his temper, shot her, and is now feeling regret…

I shot my love today, would you cry for me?
I lost my head again, would you lie for me?
I left her in the sand just a burden in my hand,
I lost my head again, would you cry for me?
