Out of all the Fleetwood Mac songs, I always liked the ones that Stevie did. Like “Gypsy,” “Dreams,” and this one, “Seven Wonders.” I also really like the video because the band actually looks healthy and happy, well, with the exception of Mick Fleetwood who has always been a little out there. Stevie Nicks and John McVie really stand out the most for me. I’m not sure what is though, maybe it’s the filming technique or the lighting but they all have this glow and I think it’s pretty awesome. There’s also this tranquility…that all the drama throughout the years just didn’t matter anymore and it shows. Especially with Lindsey and Stevie.
“Seven Wonders” was released as the second single from 1987’s Tango in the Night. It was written by Stevie Nicks and Sandy Stewart, also known for being one of Stevie’s back-up singers. It made #2 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks and #11 on the Top 40.
My favorite lines from the song are, “But if our paths never cross, well you know I’m sorry but if I live to see the seven wonders I’ll make a path to the rainbow’s end. I’ll never live to match the beauty again. The rainbow’s end.”
Unfortunately you’ll have to play the video directly on You Tube.
