Hysteria by Def Leppard.

I’m not really a follower of Def Leppard but I always hear this song on the radio. I kinda like it. And the live video I found for the song is pretty good.

Hysteria was released as a single in January of 1988 in the United States. The song is from their fourth album of the same name. It peaked at #10 on Billboard’s Hot 100. According to VH1’s Storytellers, the song name came from the band’s drummer, Rick Allen. Bass player Rick Savage and guitarist Phil Collen put together some music ideas to form the basis of the song.

I couldn’t find any story behind the lyrics but it’s basically about love and emotions. “Hysteria” is an excess of emotion and in this case, the song describes a person completely head over heels. He is trying to find out if the girl feels the same way about him.
